Packing is where most people lose money on a move. Not because packing services are expensive — but because paying removalists to wrap loose items on the hourly rate is the slowest, priciest way to get it done. Here’s how to do it properly.

Three ways to book packing services in Sydney

1. Full packing service

We pack everything: kitchen, wardrobes, bathroom, garage, artwork and fragiles. You do nothing except point at what stays. Best when you’re short on time, moving a whole house, or dealing with a lot of breakables.

2. Partial packing

You handle clothes, books and the easy rooms; we handle the kitchen, glassware, artwork and anything awkward. This is the option most customers choose, because the kitchen alone is usually a third of the packing work.

3. Unpacking at the other end

We unpack, place items where you want them and remove all the empty boxes and paper. This is the service people forget to ask about and regret skipping — a house full of boxes takes weeks to clear on your own.

How much packing services cost in Sydney

Packing labour is charged at the same hourly rates as your move, so you can combine both in one booking:

Every package includes protective blankets, removalist ropes, trolleys and dollies, shrink wrap and power tools. Two-hour minimum. A $50 booking fee confirms your date — non-refundable on cancellation or no-show, with reschedules accepted on 48 hours’ notice. Packing materials available at additional cost.

Packing materials — boxes, tape, butcher’s paper, bubble wrap and protective covers — are supplied at additional cost. Ask for a materials list with your quote so there are no surprises.

What our packers wrap, box and label

• Kitchen — plates stacked vertically like records, glassware individually wrapped, appliance cords secured
• Wardrobes — port-a-robes so hanging clothes travel on the hanger and go straight into the new wardrobe
• Artwork and mirrors — corner protection and rigid boarding, never loose in a box
• Electronics — screens wrapped and boxed upright, cables labelled by device
• Books — small boxes only, because a big box of books is a back injury
• Beds and lounges — shrink wrapped and blanket protected

Every box is labelled by the room it’s going to, not the room it came from. That single detail saves hours at the other end.
