Walk-ups, lifts and loading docks: what changes the price

The single biggest variable in an Eastern Suburbs move is not distance. It is what happens between the front door and the truck.

A ground-floor flat with a driveway loads fast. A third-floor walk-up in Clovelly with a shared staircase does not, and pretending otherwise on the phone just moves the surprise to the invoice. When you tell us the floor, the lift situation and whether there is somewhere to park, we quote the crew size that actually finishes the job.

Buildings with a loading dock — most of the newer towers around Bondi Junction — are usually the fastest jobs we do. Buildings with one small residential lift shared by forty apartments are the slowest, and booking that lift in advance is the difference between three hours and five.

Parking permits in Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick

The Eastern Suburbs sit across three local councils, and each one handles removalist parking its own way. If there is no driveway and no loading zone at either end of your move, you will usually need a permit.
